Review of my year

January - I saw new year in in New York (oh what a wonderful city!). First new years eve I've enjoyed in many many many years! January, as ever, was quiet and I don't think I did very much except celebrate my friend Kathryn is still with us after a horrendous 2006.
February - wasn't much busier. Of course the normal valentines day (another horrible institution). G's friend Scott left for Sydney so we had to send him off properly.
March - first holiday of the year - off to Cyprus which was a mix of damp apartments, plastic menus (not one of which didn't contain photos of the food!!), dangerous driving seats, sun and stunning history/architecture.
April - quick introduction for G to the family cottage on Isle of Wight. Wonderful to just get away from it all and curl up in front of a cozy cottage fire!
May - Ok it was my birthday and rather than let someone else chose how to celebrate I organised it myself. And was a wonderful night with all my family and the people who mean the most to me. (And sadly the last time our ENTIRE family was together).
June - another quiet month.
July - training started! I met (and employed!) the wonderfully sadistic John who has been putting me through my paces ever since. Rob & Liv got married on a gorgeous day which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. And then totally out of the blue our world changed when my brother in law died of a heart attack. We all miss him dearly and always will.
August - spent quite a bit of time down in Bexhill trying to comfort my sister and nephew - what comfort can there really be?
September - G & I made an emotional visit to G's home town - long time no visit.
October - we decided to try to learn how to take photos!
November - Wonderful wonderful wonderful holiday in Marrakech. Mix of colours, smells, tastes that is just so different from home. Topped off by being treated to complete luxury in the hotels.
December - quick business trip to Johannesburg enabled me to finally visit Soweto and see the other side of life. We must all remember how lucky we all are - we have power, running water, mains drains, sturdy dry homes and, most importantly, our health.

Happy New Year
